Please support the movment against whitewashing in Hollywood and the use of yellowface instead of fully capable Asian actors. The characters of Avatar: The Last Airbender are cast to be played by white actors. In act, the casting call asked for actors that are "Caucasian or any other ethnicity". Now, the evil fire nation is played by "brown" actors of Indian ethicity, lending a whole other dimension of racism to the film.

Claims that the character of Aang the Avatar is "white" is a sign of ignorance. "You never said he was Asian!" Did the culture, clothing, names (Toph Bei Fong, Lu Ten, Lee, Jin, Katara and Azula) food and language not give you a big enough hint? Did Aang have to be painted yellow and given tiny eyes for you to realize that he's NOT white? America needs to get out of the mindset that "caucasian" is the default race, and that characters are white unless it is explicitly stated otherwise.
